Audie Blaylock & Redline to Celebrate Upcoming Rural Rhythm Release With
Strong Presence At World
of Bluegrass
"Audie Blaylock is one of the true standard-bearers for traditional
bluegrass music. With his superb
vocals and top-flight musicianship,
few performers can claim the feeling
and sensitivity he has for the best
traditions of the music and the understanding to move it forward
to the next level."
Kyle Cantrell
XM Radio's Bluegrass Junction
Nashville,
TN- Highly regarded bluegrass musician Audie Blaylock, and his band Redline, are pleased to be stepping
forward
as one of the newest members of the Rural
Rhythm Records
family of artists. Their as-yet-to-be titled upcoming release
will hit the streets in early 2009 and it is the debut release for the
band, a longtime favorite on the bluegrass circuit.
The project will include their recent chart
single, "Lonesome Weary Heart,"
charting at #25 on Bluegrass Unlimited Oct. chart, #25 on the Bluegrass
Junction Top 30, XM Satellite chart for
August, #28 on the July Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 30, and #1 on
Volume #92 of the Prime Cuts of Bluegrass release. All of this
chart action
is on the merits of the single alone, without the benefit of an
album. This only lays the ground work for a "sky is the limit"
year in 2009,
now that the Rural Rhythm team is involved and a new record is on the
horizon.
Audie and band are known for
their powerful live performances, vocal prowess and musical abilities
that
are just as strong when playing ballads as when presenting uptempo
bluegrass originals at blistering speeds. Their respect for the
traditional
sounds of the genre is just as apparent with each and every tune as it
is with their live stage shows. Stan Zdonik, from the
popular Joe Val Festival, can
testify to just that. "When it comes to hard-driving traditional
bluegrass,
Audie and his band can really deliver the goods. Their standing
ovation at the Joe Val Festival testifies to that," he recently
said.
Audie
is widely regarded for his fresh and innovative approach to the sounds and traditions
of the past. His top-notch playing and vocal abilities have been touted
as some of the best being offered in the genre today. Terry Herd, four time recipient of the IBMA Broadcaster of the Year
Award, says the band's music is, "No holds barred,
take no prisoners, hard driving bluegrass, just the way I like it." High praises for this band comprised of Audie
Blaylock, Patrick McAvinue, Evan Ward, Matt Wallace and Jason Johnson.
In 2005 and 2006, Audie Blaylock and Redline were nominated
for the IBMA
Emerging Artist of the Year award. Since Blaylock began his career at age 19
when he
joined Jimmy Martin and The Sunny Mountain Boys, he's received a multitude of
other honors and awards including: the IBMA Entertainer of the Year award as a
member of Rhonda Vincent & The Rage; 2007 IBMA Instrumental Group of the
Year Award with Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper featuring Audie Blaylock; a Grammy®
nomination for Best Bluegrass Album and an IBMA nomination for Recorded Event
of the Year for "A
Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass;" and many
more.
